Something I love...

Hey Everyone! I feel so terriable about neglecting my blog for so long! But I have a little bit of time today....about ten minutes.

So this post is going to be about something that I love, something that gives me joy.

Dancing.

I love dancing. Dancing is a way for me to release stress and when I dance I don't care about anything else, it is just me and the music. When I finish a dan e or learn a step I feel wonderful...and when I dance it doesn't matter if I am in a good mood or I am sad, angry or worried, whatever emotion I am feeling I just pour into the dance and I use that energy to help me do the dance in a wonderful way. And no matter how I feel when i get to dance class I always finish my class feeling happy, refreshed and usually exhausted. =)

I am so gald that I started taking dance a few years ago. Since I have started I have realized that this is something I want to do for my whole life. I will probably not make it a proffesion but I always want to do it...for me.

I was talking with some of my friends and I asked on of tehm if they have something that does that for them...something that gives them joy and helps tehm relax. My friend said that she has not yet found something that does that for her. So I was wondering, what makes you feel like this?

It used to be softball but now it is dance for me. What is it for you? I would love to hear what it is! just leave me a comment.

Thousands of emotions well up inside me through out the day. They are released when I dance.

Weather...and Friends

Hello everyone!! Fall is here and winter is right around the corner ready to drown out all memories of warm days. I am a spring/summer girl. Not a winter girl. I love fall but not so much this year. It is October and the other day it was 35 degrees. Way to cold for my liking.

But my birthday is in the winter so I do like it a bit..and then there is Christmas oh and Thanksgiving. So I guess it isn't all bad. =)

I have a poem about winter, well the seasons...but I have to find it. I wrote it a year or two ago. I will look this week and when I come back to the library I will post it. (if I find it) lol

Her are some qoutesa bout friendship. I hope you all enjoy them!

Oh but first I have a funny story about friends. Me and my frined were walking to her house yesterday after work. She is always almost running into somthing or walking in to the path of someone..and I always pull her awya or guid her path. It is just instinct.

Well yesterday I wasn't watching where I was going and then she said Wild Rose! watch out! and pointed to the ground.

There were 2 dead possums about 3 inches from where I stopped! I almost stepped on them! Oh it was so gross!

I jumped away and playfully socked her arm. What kind of friend are you I cried (all in fun of course) She said well I didn't let you step on them!! She was right...she came thorough for me...a few inches before but she did come through. LOL

Anywas we have a lot of fun together...and now the qoutes....

Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget. -- G. Randolf

What is a friend? I will tell you it is someone with whom you dare to be yourself. -- Frank Crane

A friend is one who knows us, but loves us anyway. -- Fr. Jerome Cummings

A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out. Friendship is one mind in two bodies.

A friend is someone you can be alone with and have nothing to do and not be able to think of anything to say and be comfortable in the silence. -- Sheryl Condie

I need you too know our friendship means a lot - If you cry then I cry, if you laugh..if you jump out the window I look down then....I laugh again :-)

But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven't learned anything. -- Mohammed Ali

Have a good one!!

Fun, Fun, Fun....under the stars....

Tonight was a blast! I had so much fun. After work I went out on the boat, played soccer, kayaked, and enjoyed a bonfire.

Here is a poem that was sparked by my kayak ride tonight.

Black water,
moonless sky
a million stars

gliding
effortlessly

a trail
of days past
following
never catching up

peering into blackness
not sure
what lies ahead

trusting
in the One that cares
to guide you
through the black

softly breathing
straining to hear
marveling

at the wonder
of stars,
cricket chirps
and

bends in the road
behind and ahead

pondering
what the future
holds.

~ Wild Rose

Hope you all enjoy! I loved being alone yet sharing the kayak with someone else, paddling through black water with a million stars over head and a midnight black blanket draped around me.

Small Childhood Pleasures

I just got back in from watching a few fireworks shows. (From our house we can see fireworks that various people set off.) We watched them from our deck, and front lawn. I was out there with my 2 younger sisters and brother. The fireworks were beautiful but it was so much more fun watching them with my siblings.

My youngest sister was having so much fun. Here are a few of her exclamations.

When we were up on the deck she was bouncing around and exclaimed, "If you bounce they dance with you!!" She said this many times throughout our firework "show", And kept moving her head up and down so that they would "dance" with her. It was so cute!

Downstairs in the front lawn we were looking from place to place to spot fireworks and she cried out, "There are a whole bunch of them in the lawn!" The "fireworks" that were in the garden were fireflies!

She had so much fun pointing out fireworks for us to see. It just made me think how when we are little kids we find joy in the simplest things. Fireworks are a big thing so you can imagine the excitement over that. =)

If I would have been out watching the fireworks by my self it would have been pretty boring. But with my brothers and sister and all of their energy it was a wonderful beautiful time. A memory in the making.

We should all try to be more like little children in this aspect. We all need to notice the small flicker of the fireflies and not just the big colorful explosions of the firecrackers. I have a hard time with this but I am going to work on it.

Not nearly as spectacular but it can bring the same amount of joy. It all depends on your attitude.

Firework credit. Firefly credit.
