random post...and poem =)

dear fellow bloggers... I'm back! =)

life has been so crazy lately... I was thinking and it is crazy how fast time goes by...one day your a little girl and the next you are a young women with a million decisions and things to do. =) but it is quite exciting! ....

anyway this post will probably not make the most sense as it is almost 2 in the morning and I am quite tired.... but I hope you enjoy it anyway. =)

breathe...
in
out

feel the music...
let it guide you

moving to the movement
of the sounds I dance

like a flower I sway
and bend reaching low and high

the rhythm soothes me
and I let all thoughts leave

with each song my movements change
from graceful and flowing
to harder with more tension

with some I feel the pain
hidden in the lyrics and tune
and I almost start to cry

in others
I become almost light upon my feet
I dance the story that it tells

breath...
in....
out....

let it be your guide

Soy Libre: I'm Free

Sorry about not posting! I have been real busy with work and dance...and our computer broke down again. ): But I will try to get to the library more often. Here is a poem I wrote a year ago....Enjoy!! :)

A traves del pastizal
corro,
mis pezunas golpeando el suelo.

Mi crin cae a mis rodillas,
mi cola roza el suelo,
una chispa en mis ojos, una flama
que no se ve en muchos,

Como el viento,
soy un fantasma,
oido, mas no visto.

Soy parte del cielo,
parte de la tierra…

Soy libre.

***************************************

Across the range
I run,
hooves pounding the ground.

My mane falls to my knees,
my tail grazes the ground,
my eyes have a spark, a flame
not seen in most.

Like the wind,
I’m a ghost,
heard yet not seen.

I am part of the sky,
part of the earth…

I am free.

a poem

Here is a poem that I wrote..Sorry for any misspellings...I'm in a hurry...gotta run to dance!

Tell me what you think...and if you have any title suggestions....

Enjoy!

They say
things changs
and they say
change is good

but then why
do I feel
like I want to go back
back to when I was a child

when I was young and had few cares
when I was sorrruned by love
and knew that everything would be okay

love surrounds me
but then at times
it feels so far away
I want to grab it
hold it close
let it never get away

they say
make the most of what you've got
and I try
but it feels
like I'm failing
and falling

but I never hit the bottom
because theres
allways someone there
ready to hold me
help me back up

and theres always someone there
to reassure me that I'm loved
and to make me feel
that....

I will be just fine
and I'll make it through
and that even though I make mistakes
I will never fail or fall
without a chance to get back
to the top

Tearful Parting

Tearful Parting

weeping she poured out her soul
knowing
that this would be
the last time
she would be able to contact them

words of love
poured forth
tears
traced lines
down her face

her quill
ran along the paper
saying all that could be said
though it would never be enough

silently
with trembling lips
she read
her words

she folded
the tear stained
stationary
then sealed it
with red eyes

would they read it?
would they care?

how she wished
she would be able
to see their faces

as a second thought
she wrote
on the bottom right corner
please take care
of my sweet baby child

I love her.

stealing silenty across town
holding her litttle infant
wishing it could be differnet
knowing that it couldn't

stopping on the stoop
she breathed into the
sleeping baby's ear
I love you
I wish I could keep you
be happy
sweet one.

sobbing loudly
she knocked on the door
and ran swiftly
under the cover
of night

Wishing
she could stop time
and stay with her baby
forever...

Here is another sad poem. This poem and my poem Memories were all stirred partly from this book series I have been reading. It is called Abraham's Daughters by Beverly Lewis.

I will be posting another poem soon. The thought also comes from this series...in a way.

I hope you all enjoy it!

WOTW #2 - Memories

The WOTW prompt is: Frayed Ribbons.

To learn more about Writing on the Weekends go here.

Here is a poem that has been swirling around my head for a few days. When I read what the prompt was it just seemed to fit in with the fragments that were already floating around in me.

Enjoy!

Memories crash around me
like stormy ocean waves
knocking me over
Unable to escape the battering
I succumb

As the pictures
of things past
flash across my mind

The willow tree
where we sat talking and laughing
unaware of things to come

Starless nights
dancing
under the moon
just you and me

The many gifts
you so tenderly gave

The one I cherish the most
is the gift you gave
the day you went away

That single white ribbon
wrapped in flowered paper

Now wrapped
around your letters
written so long ago

A symbol of our past
those now frayed ribbons

Almost whole yet not
they symbolize
our memories
and what could have been
before the day
our lives fell apart leaving

only....

memories.

Tendrils of Love

Here is a poem that I wrote about our garden.

Tendrils of Love

Hello
cordially they murmur
stay for a time
in our little space of world

the red capped
and nodding heads
of cosmos, zinnia, and marigold
beckon
reaching out,
tendrils of love.

waiting,
to wrap you up
if you will only linger
long enough

keeping you
wrapped with love
petals caressing your face
like a tender kiss

Few stay
long enough
to be caught and wrapped
in the world of...

Flowers, sun,
careless days,

Come, stay.
we will treat you, like one of us
supporting, intertwining,
nurturing

as you
grow with love

Fun, Fun, Fun....under the stars....

Tonight was a blast! I had so much fun. After work I went out on the boat, played soccer, kayaked, and enjoyed a bonfire.

Here is a poem that was sparked by my kayak ride tonight.

Black water,
moonless sky
a million stars

gliding
effortlessly

a trail
of days past
following
never catching up

peering into blackness
not sure
what lies ahead

trusting
in the One that cares
to guide you
through the black

softly breathing
straining to hear
marveling

at the wonder
of stars,
cricket chirps
and

bends in the road
behind and ahead

pondering
what the future
holds.

~ Wild Rose

Hope you all enjoy! I loved being alone yet sharing the kayak with someone else, paddling through black water with a million stars over head and a midnight black blanket draped around me.

Writing on the Weekends

Writing on the Weekends 2

I decided to do this Writing on the Weekends activity. Jessica, from Literary Pursuits, came up with this.

This weeks writing prompt is the word Lost.

It seems like a lot of fun. Here is goes.

Lost.

I strain against all the odds
trying to form
a map in my mind

Did I pass this fallen
mossy log
or take a right through
the shimmering creek?

I disagree with what I think
forming an argument in my mind
yes...no...yes...hmm...
it goes on and on

Footprints lead away
and so I follow
thinking that this is my trail

I wander and soon I am back
to no place at all

a weeping figure
shrouded by the leaves of a willow
raising my faint head
I whisper
"Where am I?"

I know it can't be,
no, I won't admit it.
Like a cat hunting it's prey
the unwelcomed thought seeps in...

I'm lost.

Hope you enjoy!
