Something I love...

Hey Everyone! I feel so terriable about neglecting my blog for so long! But I have a little bit of time today....about ten minutes.

So this post is going to be about something that I love, something that gives me joy.

Dancing.

I love dancing. Dancing is a way for me to release stress and when I dance I don't care about anything else, it is just me and the music. When I finish a dan e or learn a step I feel wonderful...and when I dance it doesn't matter if I am in a good mood or I am sad, angry or worried, whatever emotion I am feeling I just pour into the dance and I use that energy to help me do the dance in a wonderful way. And no matter how I feel when i get to dance class I always finish my class feeling happy, refreshed and usually exhausted. =)

I am so gald that I started taking dance a few years ago. Since I have started I have realized that this is something I want to do for my whole life. I will probably not make it a proffesion but I always want to do it...for me.

I was talking with some of my friends and I asked on of tehm if they have something that does that for them...something that gives them joy and helps tehm relax. My friend said that she has not yet found something that does that for her. So I was wondering, what makes you feel like this?

It used to be softball but now it is dance for me. What is it for you? I would love to hear what it is! just leave me a comment.

Joys of a Family

I LOVE my family....even when we have our moments..like when my brothers put a moth down the back of my shirt...3 times...and when my sisters make a mess of our room and try to blame me...cause I take out their toys and play with them right?? or when the baby hits me when I am trying to take care of him....

Yep all these things happen.

And the moth down my shirt..AHHH!!! It was so gross. And then the other day there was a HUGE moth outside the bathroom window. I mean the size of a playing card. My brother grabbed me and pulled me to the window and tried to grab it to put down the back of my shirt!! I screamed, started hitting him (as best as I could in a huge bear hug/grab) and called for my mom. Luckily he didn't do it. Oh I would have been so freaked out!

But these our some of the joys of being in a large family.

We tease and pull tricks on eachother...all in good fun of course. We may mess with eachother but if someone outside of our family messses withone of us we are all there to let them know not to.

And because I have such a big family there is usually never a dull moment. Though truthfully I sometimes wish for more alone time. But if I do need some time alone my mom and Dad are pretty good about keeping the little crazies away.

So here are some of my "Joys of a Family" moments. If you have any "Joys of a Family" moments I would love to hear them. Just leave a comment. =)

Tearful Parting

Tearful Parting

weeping she poured out her soul
knowing
that this would be
the last time
she would be able to contact them

words of love
poured forth
tears
traced lines
down her face

her quill
ran along the paper
saying all that could be said
though it would never be enough

silently
with trembling lips
she read
her words

she folded
the tear stained
stationary
then sealed it
with red eyes

would they read it?
would they care?

how she wished
she would be able
to see their faces

as a second thought
she wrote
on the bottom right corner
please take care
of my sweet baby child

I love her.

stealing silenty across town
holding her litttle infant
wishing it could be differnet
knowing that it couldn't

stopping on the stoop
she breathed into the
sleeping baby's ear
I love you
I wish I could keep you
be happy
sweet one.

sobbing loudly
she knocked on the door
and ran swiftly
under the cover
of night

Wishing
she could stop time
and stay with her baby
forever...

Here is another sad poem. This poem and my poem Memories were all stirred partly from this book series I have been reading. It is called Abraham's Daughters by Beverly Lewis.

I will be posting another poem soon. The thought also comes from this series...in a way.

I hope you all enjoy it!

Tendrils of Love

Here is a poem that I wrote about our garden.

Tendrils of Love

Hello
cordially they murmur
stay for a time
in our little space of world

the red capped
and nodding heads
of cosmos, zinnia, and marigold
beckon
reaching out,
tendrils of love.

waiting,
to wrap you up
if you will only linger
long enough

keeping you
wrapped with love
petals caressing your face
like a tender kiss

Few stay
long enough
to be caught and wrapped
in the world of...

Flowers, sun,
careless days,

Come, stay.
we will treat you, like one of us
supporting, intertwining,
nurturing

as you
grow with love

Loving Youself

Today, when I was cleaning my room with my little sisters my youngest sister started asking us some questions. She would say "If you like ...... say I." She went through all of our family and friends. Then she said "If you like Wild Rose say I." Both of my little sisters said I, including myself. My little sister said, "What, you can't love your self!" I told her that yes, you can love yourself.

So what I am wondering is.... Do YOU love yourself?

I honestly do.

We should all love ourselves. We are children of God. We have been blessed. Our Father in Heaven sent His Only Begotten Son to die for US. How can you not love yourself when you mean so much to Him that he let His Son die for us? He cares about us, nothing we do goes unnoticed, He will never leave or forsake us.

In Matthew 10:29 -31 it reads:

29. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

30. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

31. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

If He cares about the sparrow than how much more do you think He cares for us?

In The Bible it says:

..thou shalt love thy neighbor as thy self... Leviticus 19:18

There are many different verses about loving your neighbor and to labor in love. But this verse alone shows that we should love our selves.

"Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thy self" In order to be able to do this you must love yourself. How can you truly love another when you don't love yourself? I don't think it would be possible.

Love yourself. And then you can begin to love others as yourself.

Again I will ask: Do you love yourself?
